Chateau Tilques
Château Tilques was built in 1891 on the ruins of a 17th Century Manor; Hotel Château Tilques has all the elegance and charm you would expect from a great French Château. Some 20 miles inland from Calais and Boulogne, in the village of Tilques, you turn into a sweeping driveway to be met with the imposing presence of the Château set before you. The converted stable houses the intimate restaurant where ‘la cuisine bourgeoise’ can be savoured and the Chateau’s splendid main hall provides the perfect ambience in which to enjoy an aperitif or an after-dinner liqueur and coffee. Take a stroll around the lake and woodlands accompanied by the many wild fowl that are not averse to being fed! All 52 bedrooms are tastefully appointed to reflect the Château’s elegant atmosphere. Individually designed rooms of all shape and size are situated in the Château itself and there are modern, comfortable and newly renovated bedrooms in the ‘Pavillon du Parc’ just across the courtyard. A foodies favourite as this is where Jamie Oliver learnt his love for French cuisine!
